at five minutes to midnight,

MY HERO:

NOVAK DJOKOVIC, 2008 AUSTRALIAN OPEN CHAMPION.

thank heavens he didn't waste 7 set points again. actually, i wanted to post the picture of him was his incredibly cute little brothers but unfortunately, the getty images logo covered the youngest (and cutest) brother's face in that picture, so i have to stick with this instead. both his younger brothers are so much better looking than him can. i think it's the hair. but it's ok, i still love you djokovic, don't worry. :D

the pink ipod nano is in singapore! i still prefer the white one, but i guess pink is fine. i can't wait till my phone becomes only a phone again.

my attachment was great. i got to wear slippers (haha!), enter the esplanade's backstage, figure my way around the civic district (and beyond) and meet wonderful, lovely people. seriously. everybody from the artistes to my "bosses" were all very very very very very nice. if you want elaboration, try and catch me on msn (which, i know, is hard, but you can always try).

michelle's birthday celebrations went very well. haha! we went to bugis and to a certain shop there to look for a certain someone so that somebody can finally see someone kai hua can get a 30% staff discount for her tank top (which reminds me, i really need to get more friends to work in shops). then it was off to minds cafe for another hilarious round of taboo (and other random games). dinner was steamboat and it was off to the merlion park to shoot a movie starring *** ***, the bear (no kidding). anyway, for photos and details, please visit iris'/kai hua's/michelle's blog, i'm too lazy. haha.

i will never understand what is it with army boys and their caps. come on, boys! BE PROUD OF YOUR BOTAK HEADS! you are serving the nation and we girls are very grateful for what you're doing (better you than us). haha.

we'll see our names in city lights.

i've been looking for that someone,

people who sleep on the train should be shot. i mean, seriously. i think the only time anyone should be allowed to sleep on the train is when there is a glass panel/wall next to them so that they can rest their bloody heads on it. i was on the bloody train yesterday and i sat next to this asshole who was sleeping so soundly and leaning so bloody close to me that i am sure had he woken up a second later, his head would have been on my lap. needless to say, i was petrified alright. there were no other seats i could go to and i didn't want to stand up because my bloody blister was killing me. it was such a horrifying experience, i tell you.

that said, on the same train, i saw a very very very very very very very good-looking guy! or at least, his side profile was. he was tall, thin (not peter crouch's thin, novak djokovic's thin), carrying a zara bag and was totally engrossed in his psp and ipod. like i've said, very very very very very drop-dead gorgeous side profile. unfortunately, when i alighted, i saw his entire face and i must admit, i was quite disappointed. he looked like a bloody anime character can. maybe it was the japanese influence over the past few days and maybe it was his hair, but he really look like an anime character straight out of animax. gah! where are the fernando torreses of the world?

i'll never make it on my own.

stop and stare,

i've cracked the 2000 games mark in freecell and i'm feeling pretty darn good about it. there are still many many many many more games to go, but at least i'm one (very very very very very very very very) small step closer to finishing the entire freecell game! then again, i'd probably switch over to a mac before i'm done. oh, well.

anyway, i used to hate rafael nadal and all, but in recent months i've actually started to like this guy. he's not that bad looking and he's probably the only one that can unseat stupid roger federer (i kind of lost hope in djokovic after his irritating loss to federer in last year's u.s. open). ok, so he likes to scratch his backside/crotch (i don't know why), but still. anybody who can beat federer is good enough for me.

i shall not chat about soccer because liverpool's recent worse than awful form is getting on my nerves. it's a torture watching them play and having learnt that lesson after luton & manchester city, i've stopped torturing myself. besides, my blood pressure tends to rise whenever i watch them play too. on a side note, i hope the american owners will just go back and vote for obama or something already. i'm quite tired of them. sure, they got me fernando torres, but big fat deal. without torres, there's still alonso.

tim is leaving hi5 due to a serious motorcycle accident and his replacement is super duper ugly (i saw his picture). first kathleen, now tim. i feel kind of sad actually. i think when i have a chance to go australia one day, i will step into a dvd shop and purchase all the hi5 dvds. haha!

and i wish people would just stop asking me what am i going to be when i grow up already. like, what's the point? they can't handle the truth anyway.

i think i'm moving but i go nowhere.

this is my now,

DO YOU KNOW I WAS THE TOP STUDENT FOR H2 ECONOMICS IN THE 2006 MERIDIAN JUNIOR COLLEGE'S JC1 MID-YEAR EXAMINATIONS?!!! wahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha! (wipes tears away from eyes) anyway, you can check your rankings too, it's available on the new mj portal under "my exam results." haha. i hope you will have a fun time exploring the portal. i know i did. :)

and i am breathing in the moment.

in this world,

i think novak djokovic looks soooooooo charming when he smiles. i can't stand that hair of his though, he should really learn how to style it. but i still adore him and i hope he wins the australia open (though with that idiot federer around, i highly doubt he will stand a chance).

anyway, its' five days into the new year and i still can't get used to the bloody expensive adult fares. of course, the government (if they are reading this) will probably point out to me that singapore's transport fare is amongst the cheapest in the entire world but i hate the government and i won't listen to a word they say, so there. besides, i am sure there's a perfectly good reason why other countries' transport fares are more expensive than us. like, maybe their country is bigger so the distance between stops are longer? and so, they have higher costs? but, of course, i'm just utilising my imagination. haha.

actually, i also can't really get used to the fact that as of 2008, i am no longer a student. i'm not complaining, really. it's nice not being a student. i get to wake up at noon everyday, there is no homework and i remember things like, "a transition element is a d-block element which can form one or more ions with incompletely filled d orbitals" for fun (and to show-off, haha!) and not because i have to.

but i can't help but just miss schooldays a teeny-weeny bit. those days spent laughing and giggling and bitching and talking with my fellow schoolmates. and it's kind of sad that those days have come to an end. the boys are going botak (and bringing back with them endless army stories) and the girls are busy working (or finding jobs, damn it!) and any chance of a reunion seems remote in the near future. and since i really suck at keeping contact, i can't help but feel, well, sad. that the last 2 years may just be it and we'll never be as close as we once were. oh, well. sighhh.

nothing is certain but death and taxes.
